Pan/Tilt/Zoom
Camera Control
|
 |
VidGuard lets you control one or more
pan/tilt/zoom cameras from a PC's COM port. Most PCs
have an RS-232 port, and adapter cards and level
converters let you use virtually any other serial
protocol, e.g. RS-422.
Proportional PTZ control
Proportional PTZ control is a feature of VidGuard
that lets you control all three axis of a PTZ camera
simultaneously, just by clicking on the screen. This
makes it much easier to control the camera,
particularly if you need to track moving objects.
Proportional PTZ is always enabled on browser windows
that have PTZ control configured.
When you move the mouse over the video display
area of a PTZ enabled browser, you will see the mouse
cursor change to a target shape.
To pan the camera left or right, click the left
button of the mouse near the left or right side of
the video display area. You tilt the camera up or
down similarly. The faster you click, the faster the
camera moves.
To zoom in, hold the Shift key down while you
click.
To zoom out, hold the Ctrl key down while you
click.
VidGuard will attempt to move the camera so it is
centered over where you click on the video display
area. This lets you track a moving object by clicking
on the object as it moves. You zoom in or out by
holding down the Shift or Ctrl keys as you click.
